Behavior of RC Wide Beams under Eccentric Loading

Wide beams are one of the widely used structural elements in RC buildings due to many special features that characterize them. The main objective this research is investigate behavior wide shallow under effect eccentric loading acting along their cross sections. To achieve that, an experimental program consisted seven was conducted. All were loaded using two concentrated loads at middle third where parameters considered were: magnitude load eccentricity, longitudinal spacing between shear reinforcement, and arrangement reinforcement. Following a finite element analysis performed analytical model first verified data from program. results both programs good agreement. Then, extended through parametric study other variables studies such as compressive strength concrete, transverse stirrups reinforcement ratio. showed value beam section, concrete significantly affected torsional resistance beams.
